Profile Jay is an avid Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, and Wild fan from Minnesota who has been known to participate in any and every fantasy sports league imaginable. A quick check of any league's transactions page will usually show him among the most active general managers. His hard work and determination paid off in 2004, as the New Nathan Detroits (a.k.a. FrankieWelfareBoy) defeated the Armadillo Dillos, coached by first-year owner Craig Lechner, in that season's UFFL Championship Game. The following year was not so successful for Jay's franchise, first known as Bring the Funk, and then Dino Bravo, until they were mathematically eliminated from championship contention, at which point the team was renamed Eliminated. Klinkhammer returned to the postseason in 2006, but suffered a first-round loss to the Pulverizers, ending his quest to win his second career championship. However, he won another title in 2007, defeating A Fake Football Team, coached by Roy Bellamy. The following season, he became only the second owner in UFFL history to win consecutive championships, when he defeated CheeseWhiz in UFFL Bowl VII. To date, he has won more championships than any other owner in the league, despite losing UFFL Bowl VIII to Craigntx (this record has since been tied by the Pulverizers). He also served as the coach of the Northern Division All-Stars in each of the league's first two Pro Bowls. Klinkhammer, one of the league's original twelve owners, was known for his unique team nicknames, and has played guitar for the bands "Do It For Johnny" and "Do As The Romans Do." He was also a regular chatter in the old CBS SportsLine chat rooms. He attended the Minnesota School of Business in St. Cloud, and was a participant in the Extreme Football ESPN fantasy league. In 2002, his Jackyl's Flames franchise won the championship in the AHHH! Football League on Yahoo! Sports, which he served as the commissioner of. Klinkhammer announced his retirement from the UFFL in July 2014, citing a desire to cut back on his participation in fantasy sports, in addition to being disappointed with the design of the Fleaflicker website.
