Jason Wedgwood

Profile

Jason Wedgwood, an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, is one of only two owners in league history who does not live in the United States (the other is Chad Fuller, who resides in Canada).

Wedgwood also held the dubious distinction - until the 2006 season - of being the only owner who had been around for the entire league's existence, without a single appearance in the postseason (when only the top eight ranked teams were allowed to compete). A big reason for his lack of success, as far as the 2004 season was concerned, had to do with the sudden retirement of his franchise running back, Ricky Williams. Injuries and bad luck were among the other contributing factors to the downfall of the team.

After his sole playoff appearance, Wedgwood announced his retirement from the UFFL in January 2007. He resisted the urge to return to the league for several years before assuming control of the Exit Strategy franchise August 13, 2010. Coincidentally, this was the same franchise Wedgwood controlled from 2002 to 2007. He renamed the squad "Henne Given Sunday" in honor of Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne.

In 2010, Wedgwood became the first owner in league history to go winless during the entire regular season, with his closest loss coming by 3.04 points to CheeseWhiz during Week 11. He also lost his lone postseason game, ending his season with an 0-14-0 mark. Grace Cloud returned to take over the franchise in March 2011.
