Profile A veteran of the CBS SportsLine chat rooms, Craig "Deltaman" Hoffman is one of the Ultimate Fantasy Football League's original owners. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Craig works as a sports journalist in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. He held the distinction of having the first pick in the draft prior to both the 2002 and 2003 seasons, after being randomly selected to receive the top selection in the first-ever player draft, and then finishing with the league's worst record in the first season. Hoffman also held the first overall pick in the 2008 draft, and just narrowly missed getting the first selection for the 2010 draft. The fortunes of Deltaman's squad changed in 2004, when they finished with the third-best overall record in the UFFL, and made their first appearance in the postseason, thanks to another stellar season by franchise player Shaun Alexander. He made his second consecutive appearance in the playoffs in 2006, but ended the 2007 regular season in a three-way tie for the worst record in the league. Craig had a winning regular season record in 2008, even though Deltaman allowed more points than they scored. However, what made this situation particularly interesting was the fact that his team only allowed two-hundredths of a fantasy point more than they scored (1300.07-1300.05) through the 13-game season. Hoffman returned to the championship bracket during the UFFL's 2011 postseason, after consecutive appearances in the consolation bracket in the previous two years. After a down year in 2012, Hoffman went 7-6-0 during the 2013 regular season, earning the seventh seed in the championship bracket. He went on to win his first championship by defeating the top three-ranked teams in the league in the postseason, with all of his victories coming on the road. In 2015, Hoffman became the third owner in UFFL history to finish the regular season with an 0-13-0 record (and the second to lose all of his games, including the playoffs). Highest Fantasy Score: 186.84 vs. The Catch (Week 16, 2004 Season) Lowest Fantasy Score: 39.35 vs. Max Q (Week 1, 2002 Season) |
