Weekly Previews
2007 UFFL Season

Week One, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:
(Records shown are the combined regular season/postseason records from 2006)

craigntx (4-9-0) vs. Pulverizers (8-8-0)
The Pulverizers are eyeing their third consecutive championship this season, despite posting their worst regular season record ever last year, while craigntx will field an opening day lineup with four Cowboys players, as well as the Dallas defensive team.

Cheeko's Chiefs (8-8-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (11-5-0)
Presumably Jay Klinkhammer will still remain a fan of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, even though they didn't get the chance to draft him - or the other Adrian Peterson, for that matter - this year. A shocking first-round loss to the Pulverizers dashed their championship hopes last year. Chad Fuller's franchise lived up to its name during the recent draft, selecting six Kansas City Chiefs players, as well as their team defense.

The Catch (13-3-0) vs. Steph Infections (10-6-0)
I think it's a pretty safe bet that a San Francisco 49ers fan will emerge victorious in this matchup. Andrew So's career regular season winning percentage (.692) is the highest in UFFL history. Meanwhile, the Steph Infections enter their first season without Donovan McNabb as their starting quarterback, and they will also need to avoid the "curse of the odd-numbered year"; their combined record in even-numbered years is 23-17, but it is 8-18 in odd-numbered years.

Exit Strategy (6-10-0) vs. Football Gal (3-10-0)
Grace Cloud will coach her first UFFL game since 2003, against a squad which had the league's worst record last season. Mozelle Meyers is the only coach in league history to win and lose at least 10 regular season games in separate seasons.

CheeseWhiz (5-8-0) vs. More to Come (8-8-0)
Jim Douglas is looking to rebound from his first-ever season without a playoff berth, while Becci Domecillo hopes to continue building upon her five-game turnaround from her first to her second season.

A Fake Football Team (5-8-0) vs. Deltaman (9-7-0)
The Roy Bellamy coaching era gets underway for the third time, as he takes over a franchise that made its first-ever playoff appearance in 2006. His opponent is Craig Hoffman, whose regular season record has either remained the same or improved from the previous season four consecutive years.

Week Two, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

A-Peterson Fan Club (0-1-0) vs. Pulverizers (1-0-0)
The last meeting between these two teams was in the first round of the playoffs, with the Pulverizers coming up with a huge upset over the heavily-favored Purple People Eaters. A victory this week would not be as important as it would have been last December for Jay Klinkhammer, but it would at least help them break even this season.

A Fake Football Team (1-0-0) vs. craigntx (0-1-0)
Roy Bellamy's return to the UFFL was highly successful, as his team outscored Deltaman by more than 100 points last week. Can he beat both Craigs over a two-week span?

Cheeko's Chiefs (1-0-0) vs. Steph Infections (0-1-0)
This year's only international entry in the UFFL is looking to remain undefeated, fresh off the heels of a come-from-behind victory against Jay Klinkhammer's squad. The Steph Infections are still looking for their first win of the season, despite being the fourth-highest scoring team in the league.

The Catch (1-0-0) vs. Football Gal (0-1-0)
Here is a matchup between two teams that have been heading in opposite directions for a while. Since 2004, Andrew So is 29-11-0 during the regular season. During the same stretch, Mozelle Meyers is 14-26-0. Could luck be a factor? Possibly ... or it could have been the drafting of too many Washington Redskins over the years.

Exit Strategy (1-0-0) vs. More to Come (0-1-0)
It's the long-awaited battle between two former CBS SportsLine chat admins! This is the first time in UFFL history where Grace Cloud is squaring off against Becci Domecillo.

CheeseWhiz (1-0-0) vs. Deltaman (0-1-0)
This is the first of two "Battles of Wisconsin" during the 2007 regular season, between fellow Packer fans Jim Douglas (of Hubertus) and Craig Hoffman (of Fond du Lac).

Week Three, 2007

Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Steph Infections (1-1-0) vs. Pulverizers (1-1-0)
This rematch of UFFL Bowl V pits two .500 teams against each other; the Infections are coming off a victory against Cheeko's Chiefs, while the Pulverizers are reeling from a loss against A-Peterson Fan Club.

A-Peterson Fan Club (1-1-0) vs. craigntx (0-2-0)
Much of the success of Craig Lechner's fantasy football squad will be determined by the Dallas Cowboys' performance against the Chicago Bears. Jay Klinkhammer's team is a bit more balanced, and not as heavily dependent on Minnesota Vikings as in years past.

Cheeko's Chiefs (1-1-0) vs. Football Gal (0-2-0)
Through two games, Cheeko's Chiefs and the Steph Infections have an identical record (1-1-0) and have scored an identical number of points (273.08), making this the first time in league history such an occurence has taken place involving two or more franchises this late in the season. Football Gal is no doubt hoping not to repeat as cellar dweller.

The Catch (2-0-0) vs. More to Come (0-2-0)
This is one of two matchups between an undefeated team and a winless team in Week Three. Andrew So has faced Becci Domecillo in two games in his career, and ended up winning both of them. Will this week's result be the same?

Exit Strategy (2-0-0) vs. Deltaman (0-2-0)
Despite missing the previous three seasons, Grace Cloud has picked up where she left off, with regards to regular season dominance of the Ultimate Fantasy Football League. In 29 career regular season games, she has a record of 20-9-0. Meanwhile, Craig Hoffman hopes to avoid falling to 0-3 during the 2007 campaign.

CheeseWhiz (2-0-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (2-0-0)
Since this is the only matchup this week involving two undefeated teams, something's got to give. Of course, this assumes that there won't be a tie, something which has never happened in the six-season history of the UFFL. Roy Bellamy has defeated both Craigs in the last two weeks, while Jim Douglas' victories have come against Becci Domecillo and Craig Hoffman.

Week Four, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Football Gal (1-2-0) vs. Pulverizers (2-1-0)
It's a matchup between league commissioner Jared Byrd and assistant commisssioner Mozelle Meyers! Both franchises are currently on one-game winning streaks, and will have to make a few major lineup changes for this contest as a result of several players having bye weeks.

Steph Infections (1-2-0) vs. craigntx (1-2-0)
The Steph Infections have not had much luck with franchise players in recent seasons. In 2006, quarterback Donovan McNabb suffered a season-ending knee injury in mid-November. In Week Three of the 2007 campaign, running back Deuce McAllister also suffered a season-ending knee injury. The Sports Illustrated, Chunky Soup and Madden video game jinxes pale in comparison to this. Craig Lechner picked up his first win of the season by the narrowest of margins, with only 0.43 fantasy points separating the winner and loser.

A Fake Football Team (3-0-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (1-2-0)
Roy Bellamy's squad leads the UFFL in fantasy points earned, and has been the highest-scoring team in two out of the first three weeks of the season. Jay Klinkhammer's team, on the other hand, is coming off of one of the closest losses in league history. How close was it? Well, if the elimination of fractional points had been approved as one of the new rule changes this offseason, we would have had our first-ever tie.

Cheeko's Chiefs (1-2-0) vs. More to Come (0-3-0)
Both of these teams may be struggling right now, but fortunately for them, it's still early, and there's plenty of time to recover and make the playoffs. Otherwise, they'll find themselves battling it out for the top draft pick in the 2008 draft.

The Catch (3-0-0) vs. Deltaman (0-3-0)
On paper (or online, as the case may be), this appears to be a huge mismatch. However, Craig Hoffman's regular season record has improved upon the previous year's record (or at least stayed the same) for every year of the league's existence. Following this pattern, Deltaman is due to finish the season on an 8-2 streak or better. Could an upset be in the making?

Exit Strategy (3-0-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (2-1-0)
This is arguably the game of the week - after all, it's the only matchup where both teams involved have winning records!.Jim Douglas' only loss came at the hands of another undefeated franchise, A Fake Football Team.

Week Five, 2007

Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

More to Come (0-4-0) vs. Pulverizers (2-2-0)
As a result of those annoying bye weeks in the National Football League, along with untimely injuries, neither team was anywhere near full strength last week. Players such as Marques Colston and Vince Young were casualties of the bye week, while Laurence Maroney and Hines Ward didn't play due to injury. Even Cadillac Williams got injured.

Football Gal (2-2-0) vs. craigntx (2-2-0)
Both teams have managed to claw their way back to the .500 mark, after getting off to 0-2 starts. In four previous regular season matchups between Craig Lechner and Mozelle Meyers, both owners have won two games and lost two games.

Steph Infections (1-3-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (2-2-0)
These two franchises have been rather active, as far as transactions go, in recent weeks. But which team has done the best overall job scouring the waiver wire and free agent market? We'll soon find out, after this contest is over.

Cheeko's Chiefs (2-2-0) vs. Deltaman (0-4-0)
If Craig Hoffman comes out on the losing end of this game, it will mean that he will have the same number of regular season losses as he had for the entire 2006 season.

The Catch (4-0-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (3-1-0)
Barring an epic collapse (like the 2007 New York Mets) down the stretch, these two teams appear destined for playoff berths, when all is said and done.

A Fake Football Team (3-1-0) vs. Exit Strategy (3-1-0)
This could have been a matchup of two undefeated teams, except for the fact that they were both upset last week, by A-Peterson Fan Club and CheeseWhiz respectively. This game features two UFFL owners who did not participate in the league last season, and Roy Bellamy's squad still leads the league in fantasy points scored.

Week Six, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (3-2-0) vs. Deltaman (0-5-0)
For the second week in a row, the Pulverizers will be forced to patch together a less-than-ideal starting lineup, due to several star players recovering from injuries or facing bye weeks (or both), while facing a team searching for their first win of the season.

More to Come (0-5-0) vs. craigntx (2-3-0)
After losing only five regular season games during the 2006 season, Becci Domecillo needs to win all of her remaining games this year just to tie that mark. With a victory, Craig Lechner is hoping to improve to .500 on the season.

Football Gal (3-2-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (3-2-0)
Despite their identical records, the philosophies of these two owners couldn't be any more different. As of this writing, Jay leads the UFFL with 16 transactions made, while Mozelle Meyers just made her first roster change earlier this week.

A Fake Football Team (3-2-0) vs. Steph Infections (1-4-0)
The Steph Infections are looking to end a three-game losing streak, but A Fake Football Team has a two-game losing streak of their own.

Cheeko's Chiefs (3-2-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (4-1-0)
This game features the franchise with the second-highest fantasy football points total in the league (Cheeko's Chiefs) squaring off against a team with the third-highest points total (CheeseWhiz).

The Catch (4-1-0) vs. Exit Strategy (4-1-0)
Here is a potential playoff preview between two of the league's three best franchises. The Catch's only loss came last week, while Exit Strategy's sole defeat took place two weeks ago.

Week Seven, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (4-2-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (4-2-0)
The Pulverizers welcome back wide receivers Hines Ward and Roy Williams, and possibly running back Laurence Maroney, but will lose quarterback Philip Rivers and running back LaDainian Tomlinson as casualties of the bye week. Can Tom Brady duplicate his Week Six magic for Jim Douglas' squad once again in Week Seven?

Deltaman (0-6-0) vs. craigntx (3-3-0)
It's the annual battle of the Craigs! With six losses already this year, Craig Hoffman has already surpassed his regular-season total from last year. Craig Lechner, on the other hand, is at .500, but if the season ended today, he would miss the playoffs by a very narrow margin, because of a fantasy points tiebreaker.

More to Come (0-6-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (3-3-0)
Becci Domecillo is hoping that there aren't more losses to come. Despite being winless, if the season ended today, they wouldn't even receive the first pick in the 2008 draft, as a result of Deltaman also being winless but having fewer fantasy points. Jay Klinkhammer's roster doesn't have a single player with a bye week, so they appear to be at full strength (barring injuries, of course).

Football Gal (4-2-0) vs. Steph Infections (1-5-0)
The Steph Infections are still searching for their first victory since running back Deuce McAllister, one of their franchise players, suffered a season-ending knee injury. They have dropped four straight games, whereas Football Gal has won their last four contests.

Cheeko's Chiefs (4-2-0) vs. Exit Strategy (5-1-0)
Thanks to their strong offensive output in Week Six, Cheeko's Chiefs is now the highest-scoring team in the league - but can they defeat the team in sole possession of first place?

The Catch (4-2-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (4-2-0)
Amazingly, half of the teams in the Ultimate Fantasy Football League enter the seventh week with a 4-2 record, and two of those teams are featured in this matchup (with two more facing off in the game between the Pulverizers and CheeseWhiz).

Week Eight, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (4-3-0) vs. Exit Strategy (5-2-0)
The Pulverizers realized how vital quarterback Philip Rivers and running back LaDainian Tomlinson are to their team's offense last week - not that it would have really mattered, though, against an offensive juggernaut like CheeseWhiz. Exit Strategy has to deal with the twin shocks of losing both of their starting running backs, Edgerrin James and Willis McGahee, to the bye week.

craigntx (4-3-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (5-2-0)
CheeseWhiz quarterback Tom Brady will be hard-pressed to duplicate the results of his performances over the last two weeks; meanwhile, Craig Lechner is trying to patch together a formidable starting lineup, since his favorite team (fantasy-wise and in real life) - the Dallas Cowboys - is having their bye week.

Deltaman (0-7-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (4-3-0)
For the second consecutive week, Jay Klinkhammer faces a team that hasn't recorded a victory all season, although he'll be playing without the services of wide receivers Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald and tight end Todd Heap. To make matters worse (for Craig Hoffman), one of his starting running backs - Shaun Alexander - won't be playing this week.

More to Come (0-7-0) vs. Steph Infections (1-6-0)
Someone's got to win this game, right? Both teams have rosters full of big-name players who have underachieved mightily this year - the Steph Infections include running back Frank Gore, while More to Come features wide receiver Marques Colston, running back Willie Parker and quarterback Vince Young. Technically, both of these franchises are still mathematically alive for the playoff hunt, but time is running out fast.

Football Gal (5-2-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (5-2-0)
The best matchup of the week pits the hottest team in the Ultimate Fantasy Football League (Football Gal, winners of five straight) against the overall fantasy points leader. The winner of this game will, at the very least, enter Week Nine with a first-place tie. Quite remarkable, when considering that these two owners combined for three victories in 2006 - Roy didn't play that year.

The Catch (4-3-0) vs. Cheeko's Chiefs (5-2-0)
Chad Fuller finds himself in the same predicament as Craig Lechner - being unable to start any players from his favorite team, due to the bye week. Additionally, quarterback Tony Romo will be inactive, meaning backup Matt Schaub may make his only start of the season for Cheeko's Chiefs. On the other hand, virtually all of the players in Andrew So's regular starting lineup are available for Week Eight.

Week Nine, 2007

Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (4-4-0) vs. The Catch (5-3-0)
The Pulverizers are hoping to avoid their third consecutive loss, while The Catch are looking for their second straight win. The Pulverizers will need a huge game from the San Diego Chargers against the Minnesota Vikings in order to be successful in this matchup.

craigntx (4-4-0) vs. Exit Strategy (6-2-0)
A victory by Exit Strategy would likely result in Grace Cloud clinching her first UFFL playoff berth since 2003. Craig Lechner's team is currently clinging on to the eighth - and final - seed for the postseason, and is depending heavily on a strong showing from the Dallas Cowboys during Sunday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

CheeseWhiz (6-2-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (5-3-0)
After feasting off of winless teams during the last two weeks, Jay Klinkhammer's squad will be put to the test this week, against a team tied for the best record in the UFFL, and the second-most fantasy points scored. CheeseWhiz has also won their last two games.

Deltaman (0-8-0) vs. Steph Infections (1-7-0)
Something's got to give in this matchup between two of the three worst teams in the league - the Steph Infections have lost six consecutive games, while Deltaman has lost all eight of his previous contests. For the second straight week, the Steph Infections also find themselves playing against a winless team, but More to Come ended up posting their first win of the year.

Football Gal (5-3-0) vs. More to Come (1-7-0)
Football Gal went on a five-game winning streak, before losing their last contest; More to Come opened the season with a seven-game losing streak, before winning their last game. Will these two teams revert back to their old ways, or were last week's results a sign of things to come?

A Fake Football Team (6-2-0) vs. Cheeko's Chiefs (5-3-0)
Roy Bellamy would likely clinch his first playoff berth since 2005 with his fourth consecutive victory. Chad Fuller's team has scored the third-most points in the league, trailing only A Fake Football Team and CheeseWhiz.

Week Ten, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (4-5-0) vs. Cheeko's Chiefs (5-4-0)
Five individual Kansas City Chiefs players, as well as their team defense, are in Chad Fuller's starting lineup as of the moment this article is being written, making the three San Diego Chargers in the Pulverizers' lineup look rather meek by comparison.

craigntx (5-4-0) vs. The Catch (6-3-0)
Andrew So's team has won two straight games, while Craig Lechner rebounded from a Week Eight loss to emerge victorious last week. As usual, craigntx will need a strong showing from the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants in order to be competitive.

A-Peterson Fan Club (5-4-0) vs. Exit Strategy (6-3-0)
Earlier in the week, Jay Klinkhammer attempted to trade linebacker Lance Briggs, tight end Todd Heap.and running back Thomas Jones to the Pulverizers for running back LaDainian Tomlinson. Not surprisingly, the trade did not take place, and Briggs and Heap were waived not long after it fell through. Jones, however, remained on the roster, but will be useless since this is his bye week. I guess you have to give him credit for trying to improve his team, eh?

CheeseWhiz (7-2-0) vs. Steph Infections (2-7-0)
Another CheeseWhiz victory would virtually wrap up a playoff berth for Jim Douglas, who narrowly missed the postseason last year. The Steph Infections managed to pull off only their second victory of the season last week, and that was with quarterback Eli Manning still penciled in the starting lineup during a bye week.

Football Gal (5-4-0) vs. Deltaman (0-9-0)
Mozelle Meyers' squad has dropped their last two games, while Craig Hoffman makes his tenth attempt of the season to record his first victory. No franchise in league history has lost more than ten games in a season.

A Fake Football Team (7-2-0) vs. More to Come (2-7-0)
This is only the second time Roy Bellamy and Becci Domecillo have faced each other in a UFFL game - Belly's Underdogs defeated Football Jones during Week Nine of the 2005 campaign, 101.77-86.25. A Fake Football Team leads the league in points scored, while More to Come has the second-fewest points in the league.

Week Eleven, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (4-6-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (8-2-0)
After several disappointing performances in recent weeks, the Pulverizers have decided to bench quarterback Philip Rivers, and start Jason Campbell instead ... but will this late-season change be enough to beat the highest-scoring team in the league?

Cheeko's Chiefs (6-4-0) vs. craigntx (6-4-0)
Five out of 12 franchises in the league enter this week with a 6-4 record, and two of those teams will square off in this game. As usual, in order to be successful this week, Chad Fuller and Craig Lechner will need huge performances from the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys respectively.

A-Peterson Fan Club (6-4-0) vs. The Catch (6-4-0)
Jay Klinkhammer recently changed the name of his team to "Jay...Is A Real Boy," but his team will continue to be referred to by its former name on the UFFL website in order to avoid confusion - and also because it would take forever to change all references on this website from "A-Peterson Fan Club" to "Jay...Is A Real Boy." The Catch are a rather streaky bunch, having won ther first four games of the season, then losing three in a row, followed by back-to-back victories and a loss last week.

Exit Strategy (6-4-0) vs. Steph Infections (2-8-0)
This is the first time Stephanie George has faced Grace Cloud in an Ultimate Fantasy Football League game since 2003, and another loss would virtually eliminate the Steph Infections from postseason consideration. Exit Strategy is trying to rebound from two consecutive defeats.

Football Gal (5-5-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (8-2-0)
Jim Douglas has already clinched his first playoff spot since 2005, so this game is much more meaningful to Mozelle Meyers, who currently is hanging on to the eighth and final playoff seed in the UFFL. CheeseWhiz is able to start Tom Brady at quarterback now that his bye week is over, but they have lost running back Adrian Peterson, at least for the near future.

Deltaman (1-9-0) vs. More to Come (2-8-0)
This matchups pits the league's two lowest-scoring franchises against each other. Despite their records, More to Come had won two straight contests before losing last week's game, and Deltaman posted their first victory of the season in Week Ten.

Week Twelve, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (5-6-0) vs. craigntx (7-4-0)
For at least one week, Pulverizers head coach Jared Byrd was relieved that the blockbuster trade for running back Maurice Jones-Drew didn't go down. If not for Chester Taylor's performance in Week Eleven, the team would be entering this week with a 4-7 record. Craig Lechner has won his last three games, and seven of his last nine, and would lock up a postseason berth with a victory.

Cheeko's Chiefs (6-5-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (6-5-0)
Jay Klinkhammer has reverted back to the team nickname he began the season with. Chad Fuller is hoping his team can revert back to the way they played the last time they faced Jay's squad, when they won by 34.10 points.

Steph Infections (2-9-0) vs. The Catch (7-4-0)
Another victory would insure Andrew So of his fifth postseason berth in as many seasons of competition in the UFFL. These two teams met during Week One, with The Catch squeaking by the Steph Infections for a 7.15 point victory.

Exit Strategy (7-4-0) vs. Football Gal (5-6-0)
Even though another win for Grace Cloud would secure a spot in the playoffs for her, this game is probably more meaningful for Mozelle Meyers. Despite having the same record as the Pulverizers - who currently hold the eighth seed in the playoffs - if the season ended today, Football Gal would be on the outside looking in, due to the fantasy points tiebreaker.

More to Come (2-9-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (9-2-0)
The CheeseWhiz are the league's hottest team, having won their last five contests; who needs Adrian Peterson? On the other hand, More to Come is involved in a three-way battle with Deltaman and the Steph Infections for the top pick in the 2008 player draft. If the season ended today, Deltaman would receive it, by virtue of the fantasy points tiebreaker.

Deltaman (2-9-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (8-3-0)
The highest-scoring team in the league meets the lowest-scoring team in the league ... and the health of the starting quarterback for Deltaman is still in question. Could things get any worse for them?

Week Thirteen, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

Pulverizers (6-6-0) vs. A-Peterson Fan Club (6-6-0)
With the seventh and eighth playoff seeds mathematically still up for grabs as we enter the final week of the regular season - and these two teams currently inhabiting these positions - this game has more meaning than any other this week. The winner is certain to be playing beyond this week, while the loser will likely be basking in postseason glory as well, although this is not a given.

craigntx (7-5-0) vs. A Fake Football Team (9-3-0)
This is the only matchup on the schedule between two teams who will definitely be playing beyond this week, and it would not necessarily be a surprise if they meet again in a playoff atmosphere. More than half of Craig Lechner's lineup will be active during the Thursday Night Football game.

Steph Infections (2-10-0) vs. Cheeko's Chiefs (7-5-0)
With a playoff spot already guaranteed, Chad Fuller doesn't have much to play for besides playoff seeding. Stephanie George could be playing for a higher draft pick or to avoid losing her record-setting 11th game, depending on how one looks at it.

The Catch (8-4-0) vs. Football Gal (5-7-0)
A victory in this game is absolutely vital to Mozelle Meyers' chances of making the playoffs. Even if she manages to defeat Andrew So's squad, she will also need to have scored enough fantasy points in this contest to overtake the team which loses the Pulverizers/A-Peterson Fan Club showdown.

More to Come (2-10-0) vs. Exit Strategy (8-4-0)
Becci Domecillo's team limps into this game having dropped their last two contests, while Grace Cloud is hoping to enter the postseason on a three-game winning streak. More to Come is attempting to avoid establishing a potential league record of 11 losses in the regular season.

Deltaman (2-10-0) vs. CheeseWhiz (10-2-0)
The rematch of the "Battle of Wisconsin" pits the top-ranked team in the UFFL against the league's cellar dweller. Jim Douglas is playing for the top seed in the postseason, while Craig Hoffman is jockeying for the top selection in the 2008 player draft. Douglas could set the league record for most victories in a season outright, while Hoffman could set the record for most losses in a season (or possibly end up sharing the record with several people).

Week Fourteen, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

CheeseWhiz (first seed, 11-2) against A-Peterson Fan Club (eighth seed, 6-7)
Despite ending up with the league's best regular season record, CheeseWhiz head coach Jim Douglas is very concerned about this matchup. "I ended up in first place in both my leagues this year, and I don't think I'll make it past the first game," he said, adding that his feelings were based on an iffy running back situation. Meanwhile, A-Peterson Fan Club, led by quarterback Peyton Manning, running back Maurice Jones-Drew and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, snuck into the playoffs with a losing record, and one-third of their starting lineup wasn't even on their roster last week.

A Fake Football Team (second seed, 10-3) against Pulverizers (seventh seed, 7-6)
A Fake Football Team enters the postseason having won seven of their last eight games; their only loss came to the team they will be facing during the first round of the playoffs. The Pulverizers, winners of their last three contests, actually find themselves in poor shape entering this game. Wide receiver Roy Williams is expected to miss the remainder of the season, quarterback Jason Campbell has struggled in his last two games, and the Pittsburgh defense is facing the New England Patriots in Week Fourteen.

Exit Strategy (third seed, 9-4) against craigntx (sixth seed, 7-6)
Grace Cloud's return to the UFFL was a success, and she enters the playoffs on a three-game winning streak. However, she faces Craig Lechner in the first round, and the last time these two franchises squared off, during Week Nine, craigntx was victorious by a 61.19-point margin (155.58-94.39). Lechner is hoping to end a two-game losing streak of his own entering the week.

The Catch (fourth seed, 8-5) against Cheeko's Chiefs (fifth seed, 8-5)
These teams have identical records, and only 4.79 fantasy points separated fourth place from fifth place in the regular season standings. However, one margin that wasn't close was the point differential when these two teams competed in Week Eight; Andrew So's team pummeled Cheeko's Chiefs by the score of 157.83-57.58.

Football Gal (6-7), Steph Infections (3-10), More to Come (3-10) and Deltaman (3-10) did not make the playoffs. Despite having the same record as A-Peterson Fan Club, Football Gal did not make the postseason because of the fantasy football points tiebreaker.

Week Fifteen, 2007
Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

* CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET *
A Fake Football Team (second seed, 11-3) against craigntx (sixth seed, 8-6)
With last week's victory over the Pulverizers, A Fake Football Team enters this game having won eight of their last nine, while Craig Lechner is 6-3 over the same time span. Roy Bellamy was on the winning end of both of this season's regular season contests against craigntx.

The Catch (fourth seed, 9-5) against A-Peterson Fan Club (eighth seed, 7-7)
Jay Klinkhammer pulled off one of the biggest upsets in league playoff history last week, as he defeated the top-seeded CheeseWhiz by less than four points. But will luck remain on his side this week, as he faces the highest-scoring team from Week 14?

* CONSOLATION BRACKET *
CheeseWhiz (first seed, 11-3) against Cheeko's Chiefs (fifth seed, 8-6)
Jim Douglas' squad is trying to save face after suffering a rather humiliating loss during the opening round of the playoffs to A-Peterson Fan Club. Quarterback Tom Brady is the poster boy for consistent play, but as long as running back Adrian Peterson doesn't repeat his disappearing act from a week ago, the CheeseWhiz should be fine.

Exit Strategy (third seed, 9-5) against Pulverizers (seventh seed, 7-7)
The Pulverizers will be using their third starting quarterback of the season in this contest, due to a combination of injuries and inconsistent play from Philip Rivers and Jason Campbell. Jay Cutler, fresh off the free agent scrap heap, gets the starting nod this week against Exit Strategy, who was upset by Craig Lechner's team in the first round.

Football Gal (6-7), Steph Infections (3-10), More to Come (3-10) and Deltaman (3-10) did not make the playoffs. Despite having the same record as A-Peterson Fan Club, Football Gal did not make the postseason because of the fantasy football points tiebreaker.

Week Sixteen, 2007

Here's a brief glimpse at this week's head-to-head contests:

* CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET *
Championship Game - A Fake Football Team (second seed, 12-3) against A-Peterson Fan Club (eighth seed, 8-7)
Thanks to a combination of good luck and shrewd roster moves, Jay Klinkhammer finds himself in the championship game, despite barely making the playoffs with a sub-.500 record. Earlier this week, he referred to his improbable postseason run as "ridiculous."

"I should not be in the finals as an [eighth] seed," Klinkhammer said. "I'll take it."

Meanwhile, Roy Bellamy has taken a more conventional path to the finals, having won nine of his last ten games while outscoring the rest of the league by a comfortable margin. However, one of his three losses this season came against A-Peterson Fan Club, during Week Four. In that particular contest, Bellamy's squad only scored 85.88 fantasy points, the only time they have been held under 100 points this year.

Third Place Game - The Catch (fourth seed, 9-6) against craigntx (sixth seed, 8-7)
The losers of last week's semifinal games in the championship bracket meet here. These two franchises previously squared off in Week Ten, with craigntx emerging victorious (125.55-95.40).

* CONSOLATION BRACKET *
Fifth Place Game - CheeseWhiz (first seed, 12-3) against Pulverizers (seventh seed, 8-7)
There will be no third consecutive championship for the fantasy football team from Philadelphia, but that doesn't mean the league commissioner has any less desire to win during the final week of the UFFL schedule. In Week Seven, Jim Douglas' squad pulverized Jared Byrd's team, 143.91-63.01, in one of the more humiliating moments of the season. It was the most lopsided victory for CheeseWhiz all season long, as well as the most lopsided defeat for the Pulverizers.

Seventh Place Game - Exit Strategy (third seed, 9-6) against Cheeko's Chiefs (fifth seed, 8-7)
Grace Cloud and Chad Fuller are both hoping to avoid being recognized as the only team to make the playoffs this year, while not winning any postseason games. In a regular season matchup between these two clubs in Week Seven, Chad's team came out on top, 113.83-85.99.

CheeseWhiz (5-8), Bills SB in 2019! (5-8), CowboysNtx (4-9) and Football Gal (3-10) did not make the playoffs. Despite having the same records as two playoff teams, CheeseWhiz and Bills SB in 2019! did not make the postseason because of the fantasy football points tiebreaker.
